CardDAV beta in Thunderbird + SOGo Connector?
Has anyone been able to get Thunderbird + SOGo Connector to sync their Fastmail contacts with the CardDAV beta? I tried File->New->Remote Address Book, and tried https://dav.messagingengine.com as well as https://carddav.messagingengine.com/dav/addressbooks/user/<my username>/Default/ (sniffed out of the logcat of my Android phone) and neither seemed to do anything useful. Any advice would be appreciated!

This worked for me. Did you include <fastmail.com> with your user ID? [or, I assume, whatever your full user address is]

I don't know if I'm having the same issue as Ted, but I think I am. I have Thunderbird 31.3 and SoGo 31.0.0. I have the URL set up correctly and SoGo says it can sync no problem. It downloads my contacts and I can create contacts and upload them.
The problem I'm having is I can't see them at all. Thunderbird can't find them for address completion, either. Here is a screenshot of my address book after SoGo says it downloaded 9 contacts |

Hi All,
I have the same issue as described by mathfreak. I.e. it appears to sync the contacts okay (according to the SOGo notification message) but they are not visible in the Address Book. If I create a contact in Thunderbird, it gets uploaded to FastMail okay. I can then see that new contact in the web interface (and in Thunderbird), but I can't see any of my other contacts. I am using Thunderbird 31.3.0 and Inverse SOGo Connector 31.0.0, on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Any ideas much appreciated. Best regards, Sam |

SoGo Connector has a bug that prevent is preventing it from working against our server. I've opened a bug report with them here: http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=3042

No response on my ticket, so I fixed it myself. If you're able to compile your own Thunderbird extensions, here's the fix: https://github.com/inverse-inc/sogo-...or.tb31/pull/1
If it goes another week or two without any response, I'll try to find a contact at SOGo to get it moved along. |

Not just me then!
I'm glad I tracked this thread down as I'm seeing the same problem. I guess I'll have to wait until SoGo get this sorted but at least I should get notified when you find the fix now

SOGo just released Connector 31.0.01 which includes my fix and works great with FastMail. Get it here:

Thanks robn - I've downloaded the extension and it works fine with Thunderbird and FM for two-way sync.

Sogo (plus Thunderbird) with Fastmail, anybody?
I'm trying to use Sogo 31.0.1 with Thunderbird on both Linux and Windows. Hasn't worked on either so far.
I'm working in the first instance with the CardDAV server that comes with my Synology diskstation. I wouldn't recommend this if you have, as I do, a box with 1Gb memory. It uses Postgres, which is overkill for a lightweight machine. I should have used and will likely switch to Baikal, which is open source and readily added with a manual install. Anyway, I've yet to be able to sync contacts with the server and I just tried a Fastmail account with CardDAV enabled as a test. That didn't work either. At first I thought this was why: http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=3255 Fastmail wants a username with an "@", This causes Sogo to fail, but using https is reportetd as a workaround. It doesn't for me. Anyone got this working with the latest Thunderbird + Fastmail? Update: issue resolved with router / firewall restart. bah. Last edited by PON : 21 Aug 2015 at 09:51 AM. |
