Attachments -- not being sent
I am using the web interface and tested on a few different browsers, notably Chrome 28.0.1500.71.
I attach a PDF to an outgoing mail. It does the upload process and I hit send. After when I look in Sent Items, the attachment is not there (I have the option to save attachments turned on in the personality). More importantly, the recipient did not get it. Any ideas? |

That is confusing.
Just tried the same exercise - e-mail with attachment in both classic/non-classic interfaces on both Chrome and Firefox. No attachment sent. Tried also in myopera.com - same result. |

Ditto on the attachement problem
I'm having the exact same problem the two of you are encountering regarding attachments.
— In my case, I'm using Firefox as my web browser, on the Mac platform, and I've tested it using Safari as well. — (I've submitted a service ticket to FM regarding this problem nearly an hour ago, but I've yet to receive a reply.) |

Same issue.
Tried upload via drag-and-drop, chooser, Dropbox. Tried on Linux via Chrome and Mac OS X via Chrome and Safari. No magic combination works |

Same issue here: Win7 Home Premium+FF 22+classic interface.
Message arrives without attachments. I tried sending 3 files in one message: .jpg. .doc and .pdf, they all disappeared. "Save sent files" is on, but no attachment saved locally. |

I'm seeing same issues with sending attachments.
If you send using an IMAP client like thunderbird, attachments still go thru fine so it must be a bug in the web interface. I've filed a ticket with support on this. Hopefully they get it resolved quickly. |

Gah! Somebody performed a key-exhaustion attack on the MsgUnqId that's used to link messages and attachments. The immediate middle-of-the-night fixup of increasing the keyspace for SendMessages fixed sending, but didn't fix adding attachments.
Altering the other database tables related to attachments fixed that issue - the underlying problem that attachments were silently not attached is a more significant bug. If something goes wrong the correct approach is to raise an error, not silently do half the job. I've raised that as a P1 bug internally and CC'd basically everybody! We have put in place additional limits to make sure nobody can jump an ID right to the top of the keyspace in future. Bron. |
