Question Counting of Forum Posts Submitted No Longer Works

In this EmailDiscussions.com Forum, we all see our names and the number of posts we have submitted on the left side of our posting. Has anyone else noticed that the count listing the number of our posts no longer counts? The number is frozen in time...

It's not an earth shattering event, but I thought I would mention it anyway.

Hello OLee.

You do know that posts to the 'Off Topic Lounge' do not count (in the total post count) and that the post count does always increase after every post - so there might be a delay?

From what I've heard, it can take 10 or 15 minutes for the post-count total to catch up with the actual number of posts.

I went back and checked on some of my first posts back in 2014 and my post count showed 25, which is what it is now. I thought I had posted more for some reason. Oh well.

I guess it looks like I'm the one frozen in time, not the post count on this board.

Thanks all.

The post count feature confuses many forum members. The post count is tied to your user name at EMD, not to any specific post. So if you look at any post (one made in Jan 2014 or April 2015), the post count is associated with your user name and the time you are looking at the count, not to the original post date. So if you went into your member page and the list of all of your posts, yesterday you might see "25", but if you then made another post today the count would be "26" on each of those posts. This is because it's your current post count, not the count when you made the original post.

I moved this thread to "About this site", where it belongs. Check your count now.
