IMAP question

I use Thunderbird + IMAP for my email.

Is it possible, in any way, to set Thunderbird to only download the email message without any attachments? It gets very annoying having to download the entire email (with attachment) just to get 1k worth of text written in it.

If not Thunderbird, are there any email clients that can do this? (Other than webmail, that is.)

Make sure "View -> Display Attachments Inline" is unchecked.
