Yahoo new TOS...opinions?
Now that Yahoo is joining Verizon in June, and has new Terms Of Service, I'd like opinions on what users think about this. Is the new TOS acceptable? Will you keep your Yahoo email account?

Will an avid reader of T&Cs care to post a brief comparison of the old and new rules?
I have a Yahoo account, certainly not my primary one, tertiary at best, and I'll keep it for occasional use for matters of low importance and privacy. I did not read the T&C when I joined and I'm not going to do it now. I fully appreciate other folks may have a different approach.... |

The new Yahoo TOS can be read here:
https://policies.yahoo.com/us/en/yahoo/terms/utos/ For those who are intrested. I myself use my yahoo accounts merely for "recreational" matters....LOL For serious matters (and daily usage) I prefer Yandex,Mail.ru or Gmail. As an email freak I can only hope that the new owners of AOL/Yahoo will make their email experience better then what it now is. Time will learn. I believe in this July they will launch OATH. I had forgotten that I have had an unused paid Yahoo account for years.
Earlier this week, upon receiving confirmation of Verizon's impending take over, I immediately canceled the Yahoo account. To my surprise, my PayPal account was credited a prorated refund (to the penny). Had I known that it was so easy to cancel a Yahoo account, I would have done it years ago. Every December for I forget how many years, I would receive a PayPal message confirming payment to Yahoo. I would curse myself for not having canceled the account, then, forget about until the following December. Mercifully, it was only $19.99/year. It won't be happening again and no regrets. -- Jacinto |
