I found vmail.me has switched their webmail to Roundcube, the old simple webmail has gone.

please read a new post about vmail.me in another thread

I don't want to cross-post, but I have just posted in the "VMail.me Gone" thread regarding a new problem and oddity concerning vmail.me. I ask those who are interested in vmail.me to read it and to move the discussion of vmail.me to that thread. Thanks.

Thanks communicant, its disappointing that people avoiding the reason of this thread - how "mail.me" can be an awesome domain like "my.com". Or any information related registration, but...

I love the domain name too. But seems it is private?
There is no indication one can contact them and I fail
to google them. No info on who they are?

That one looks lovely indeed. A true GEM even.
We derail the thread now so let us go back to the topic.

mail.me seems to not want others to join them
So maybe we can say that the case is solved?

Can it be some kind of practice in setting up such
I mean think of a school or place they need to practice
and they set up a lot of things.

I've heard that University students actually set up
Bots that visit forums and pretends to be real humans
and they see how long it takes for the humans to realize
it is a Bot and the team at the school that manage to
get undetected win it for that test.

So maybe this is a work of somebody at a Biz school
them learning how to market a new company and how to
make a fancy looking site and only the Staff can log in.

Just a wild guess. Sure I am curious too. How can we find out.
Did the Who is mention any contact address? Which country
is the owner in?
Maybe they show it to those that they want to finance the whole thing
and them have still not find anybody willing? So it is in dormant just now?

Sorry to bring back this old topic onto the surface, but is the mystery surrounding mail.me resolved by now? The link in the last post is no longer working.

So based upon this topic, we know that it's owned buy a registrar (or the .me registry?) and that the DNS redirects to an address in Australia.

Is the email service still around? I cannot load the page neither when typing mail.me in the browser.

All previous information in this thread on mail.me is out of date.

The domain is currently a private registration via GoDaddy, and MX records exist using GoDaddy servers.

There is also a subdomain - mail.mail.me - that appears to have a Slovenian IP address.
