Photo gallery enhancement request

I use the photo gallery for posting scenic and wildlife photos and I think it would be great if one could click on a photo to link to a user-specified URL. The link could, for example, be to wikipedia.org or other site which would provide information for the selected animal/bird/etc. I'm sure this feature could be used for other purposes as well. It could be accomplished by adding a "photo link" text box to the file edit window.

The gallery HTML code would need to be modified to optionally include the proper HTML link entries when they are present. Maybe there are other development issues as well.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else would make use of this. One thing I don't know about is if this option would introduce any type of security issues.

In the Comment: field, a string such as
Code:
http://somdcomputerguy.com
could be used. The image itself wouldn't be clickable, but the comment below the photo would be. A HTML string could be used in the comment field, such as
Code:
<a href="http://somdcomputerguy.com">website</a>
as well.

Interesting. It's a start and of course is only available on the large-size photo. Thanks for the info.

Although it's not clickable, whatever is in the comment field shows up as the pop-up title when a thumbnail is hovered over.

Yes, but I'm putting a "More Information" comment (link actually) for each photo which shows on the large size page. But the pop-up "More Information" is not what I want in this case. I'd still love to be able to place a clickable link on any photo, any size.
