Well, I see that the majority likes it the way my wife does it, and not the way my mother does it! I think I'll stick to the way I was brought up!
(I did learn to compromise between the way I was brought up and the way my wife likes things in that I pull the seat up while flushing and only then put it back down the way my wife likes it!) |

I really don't understand the question - surely you just make certain you've finished reading the newspaper first before tearing it into squares. Or is it that just a Scottish custom?

Front, because it's easier to remove the sheets.
But if you have cats in the house who love to scratch the sheets off the roll, you need to hang the roll with the loose end at the back. My cats used to shred the toilet paper to pieces, thus making it almost unusable. When I complained to my sister, she told me to hang the rolls backward. Problem solved. The cats had no fun with the toilet paper and stopped shredding them. |

Cats -- I'll have to try that experiment. Usually my cats are good about this except when I have one of those weeks where I have a meeting (or something) every night of the week. That's when they usually attack the roll. However, I probably should stick to my original solution -- spend time with my cats if their behavior indicates they are feeling ignored. Two more suggestions for strange polls: 1) A "Crunchy Wheat -- Nicely Sweet" Poll OR 2) A "Tastes Great -- Less Filling" Poll |

Seriously folks!
It is said that an engineer was trying to figure out on how to secure an aging dam which was showing signs of various weeknesses becoming a serious menace to villagers below in the valley. A passerby tried to solve the problem with him. Finally, after a bit of reflexion, he told the engineer: "I've got an idea! Why not drill a series of holes all the way across, in a horizontal manner?!" "How's that?" asked the engineer. "Gosh!" he said, "haven't you ever noticed that when you try to break off sheets of toilet paper, they never rip off at the line?!" Last edited by dantheman : 14 Jul 2004 at 12:16 AM. |
