But finally i switched to ubuntu's default mail client (sorry forgot the name).

Upgrade to version 3.14.0 on August 8, working well with Slackware64-current.

As for IMAP IDLE... perhaps this will provide enlightenment.

Bug 1408 – IDLE-Support with libEtPan (since 0.52)
