delivery mail
Hi. I would like to ask a technical question. When you send an email to a recipient that doesn´r exist, you receice a "delivery mail" saying it was not possible to deliver that mail.
What happens if you send the mail using an address that also doens´t exist. (you write any mail address and display name in identies). Where is the "delivery mail" sent? |

Backscatter
Welcome to the EMD Forums, klamm!
The delivery failure report goes to nobody or to an unsuspecting victim as spam. This is commonly used by spammers, and is the cause of a large fraction of spam. It is called backscatter. Some email providers (such as Fastmail) have backscatter spam filters. Bill |
