Question about email attachment sends

Once a week I complete and email an Excel worksheet file as an attachment from within my email program, Sylpheed (Win 10). This is from a Fastmail address, POP3. Most times, anywhere from maybe 30 seconds to several minutes after the send appears to complete, I remove the attachment from the Sent folder entry so as to minimize file storage. The past couple of weeks, the Excel worksheet file has arrived uncompleted. Checking back, the file is completed, which makes me wonder, Is there a time period where removing the file is premature? If cache is involved and I am acting too quickly, then I can imagine cache might be using a previous uncompleted version of the file. What I don't get is why it would do so from the Sent folder version, when it appears that the file sending has been completed. Thanks,

Not sure what is happening, but I find it is often better to share the Excel file via OneDrive, assuming you are using it. That way you reduce the possibility of having multiple versions of the spreadsheet floating around leading to confusion. That has happened to me before.

The most likely explanation is that you didn't actually save the worksheet to the drive until after you added the attachment to the email.
