https?
Is there any chance the site administrators can add https to this site?

It increases the risk of accounts being hacked, with all the possible consequences that may have (impersonation, deletion, stealing personal info from the profile).
Furthermore, browsers and plugins are and will more and more complain (my password manager does, for example). Regardless of whether you feel this is right or not, it is bothersome and implementing https is a straightforward fix. I did, it seems the administrator did not respond then. Also, I saw people argue that because they didn't see this as a risky situation, it shouldn't be done, even if other users did consider the risk high enough to make it worth implementing https. Furthermore, I saw people claim there would be connection problems. I don't see which, but in any case, plain http connections could in principle be still allowed as well. Finally, any concerns about cost is now moot with Letsencrypt (I found it surprisingly easy to do for my sites, and I'm an amateur). The only reason not to do it is if the administrator can't. |

No reason for this site to force HTTPS . Its silly..... Nothing sensitive here...
Maybe having an SSL layer may be good but not forcing it as you can cause connection problems with some browsers and all....... |

I see no reason to force it. But I am curious about the connection problems you suggest there may be; can you share some examples? Actually, in the future browsers will complain when sites are not https-protected. |

HttpS is the new normal. The forum owner is too lazy, disinterested, or incapable of implementing it.
Cost is not an issue anymore. If you cannot connect to https with a modern day browser then I don't know what to say. |

And that's not https secure either. I also found this quote interesting, from his website: He continues to participate actively on several domain discussion forums The information on the website does not appear to quote anything after 2010, and a lot of links are dead. BTW, that's not meant to be a criticism of Edwin, I'm just reporting the information to the forum. |

I've sent Edwin a PM. I'll report back when he replies and if he's fine with that.

Let's face it, emd has slowed alot. It's not the moneymaker it was. It must still be paying its way its still here.
One does get the feeling of abandonment. I can't let go. It is the first or second forum I joined. |

No sensitive data here unless you consider your login details, email addy, and private messages sensitive. I'm pretty sure hackers could care less about emd. No skin off my buttocks. My point was the owner does not care about this site. |
