"Home" - The God Machine
Opening lines: "Black car, wrong side of the road Saying: Look out Jack, we're taking him home to his promised land..." epic song by the way by --but this is just my opinion-- one of the best bands ever. |

"Rollin' in my 5.0" - Vanilla Ice
"Rollin'" - Limp Bizkit (the above are very much guilty pleasures but well, they're about cars) I also think of a song "The Road Ahead" which was even used for a commercial on TV as well as becoming a big hit around the change of millennium... I'm not sure of the band though. City to City, could that be it? Also, if you wish to loosen your criteria: "Stripped" by Depeche Mode has the sound of a car engine in the intro... |

Swamp River Days - John Fogerty
The opening lines: Two Lane, shinin' in the July Dust, Heat risin' off the road out in front of my truck, Pulled my pick-up over the hill, Down the slide gravel through the cat-tails, Give me those Swamp River Days again. |
