Classic demise date heads up

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet. Fastmail has emailed me TWO different dates for the shut down of Classic, 30Jun2017 and 31Jul2017. No clue which is valid, but am assuming June to be on the safe side.

Fastmail 13 years ago was the absolute BEST email on the planet. Over the years it got slower and slower as well as harder and harder to use. Slowmail today is now one of the worst, if not the worst, emails on the planet.

The new interface does not work. No upgrade path has been provided to me. So, after 13 years, I am gone.

Sorry if the above has already been posted.

are u still using a legacy account?
https://www.fastmail.com/help/ourser...ng-legacy.html

As I prefer the Classic UI, I am not looking forward to the 30th of this month... its June 30th as the cut off.. its displayed as a colored header at the top of the Classic UI after UI EVERY SINGLE TIME I LOGIN.

I'm not sure what July 30th is referring too...
if you have a really old account like Membership account type or guest they did away with those... maybe its a deadline to upgrade your account..

btw you CAN ONLY upgrade your account from the New UI
https://www.fastmail.com/login/
Click on the drop-down menu top left corner of the New UI and
select "billing and plan"

and there is another thread for the losing of the Classic UI
End of classical interface

There were several emails you probably received with the two dates:The Fastmail website Help had incorrect dates for the Guest and Member account expiration until about an hour ago, when Bron fixed it.

For the first time in many years (15) I feel very unsure about Fastmail, yes it's fast and reliable, but for me it no longer has that nice user interface, so lets hope one day soon they can put back all the bits they have left out...

HEAR HEAR!!

- Folder counts (NEW/total)(right margin aligned)
- Trash folder's empty link
- Classic UI's search results display per folder headers and separate each folder's readout by a [hr] aka horizontal rule.

These are the three features I CANNOT live without!

My three are air, water and food.

Here's hoping you can find some way to survive.

So I take it you'll be finding an alternative email service? If so, you'd better hurry.

Arrow New features available in beta

Fastmail promised that they would add four requested features before they closed Classic. These all seem to now be working on beta (https://beta.fastmail.com).
  • In Compose, setting the message as high priority (Importance: high & X-Priority: 1 (High) headers)
  • In Compose, requesting a read receipt (Disposition-Notification-To: header)
  • Ability to forward multiple messages as attachments to a single new message
  • A dark theme

lol yeah right!
nota chance... FastMail is my main and I'm not going anywhere...
I've been with FastMail since 2003

lol... I have only three features, that are great in the Classic UI that I
NEED/USE-every-day.... that FastMail has stripped so many good features..

AS THE OLD SAYING GOES..
1 step forward 2 STEPS BACKWARDS

like the FILES (custom-ui) --> (css/js) --> tweak.(js/css)
This feature allowed the "customer/user" to extend the FastMail experience more to their liking

Your repeated arguments (including counting down to "dooms day") has incredibly less merit if you admit that you're not changing email providers. It would seem that the better, more appropriate attitude would be.. "I don't like the changes they're implementing, but understand that a business has to consider the needs of the many, not a select few.. Overall, FM is still the best provider around."

That's a lot better than the "sky is falling" attitude you and Bamb0 have had the last six months. (Well, you for the last six months.. Bamb0 has never liked anything anyone has ever done throughout the existence of mankind; some people like wallowing in their own contrived misery.)

lol good grief...

consider this:
1) melodramatic (def: characteristic of melodrama, especially in being exaggerated, sensationalized, or overemotional.)

2) humor...? idk...

3) I can't say I like most changes because.. they choose to scrap so many GREAT features, that MADE FastMail GREAT... in so many ways....
and they could add back those features as toggle options.. so they are not visible to people that just happened to "not like them"

I'm pretty sure the "many" DON'T HAVE CLUE what they want or need! ;p
because they probably never contact FastMail for anything outside of problems and nothing on features... :/ so..... yeah what about all the powers user and life-long members like myself :3 I've been with FastMail since... Thats my first activity with FastMail...

I bought 5 years of Enhanced in December of 2010...
I downgraded to lite, from 2015-2016 and
renewed lite for 3 years at that point but upgraded to the new basic account this year so I could get ftp access back...
hmm... so I hate change..... ;p
I tend to find something I like and stick with it... ;p
