NudgeMail

Does anyone else here use this service? I don't receive any of my 'nudgemails' using Fastmail, but it works as expected using another of my email services, ie., OpenMailBox. I have checked the Inbox folder, the spam folder, and the folder they are 'ruled' to be filed into.

Thanks, - bruce

I do. I'm not having a problem sending mail anywhere, I just don't receive any email from NudgeMail, or from a DEA service that I occasionally use. I believe I'm going to open a ticket soon, just to see if Fastmail is blocking email from the Nudgemail or any of the SpamGourmet domains. I'm going to check my rules and sieve codes again also, and turn off my spam checker completely. I hope turning it off doesn't delete my bayes databases..

Thanks, - bruce

I just checked, and changing your Spam Protection level to Basic does not affect the Bayes database numbers (Spam learned / Non-spam learned). If you later switch back to a spam filter level your Bayes learning should kick in again.

Port 465 is the preferred choice for email clients/services that support it, but either 465 or 587 will work fine.

Technically, port 465 is for native SSL/TLS connections, and is a slightly more secure choice in some circumstances. Port 587 is for STARTTLS, where the connection begins as plaintext and gets "upgraded" to SSL/TLS. See FastMail's article on SSL vs TLS vs STARTTLS if you're curious about the differences.

FYI: normal password won't work - you need to create an app password for SMTP:

Shortly after you posted this, I tried again and sent another email to their status address. No luck, or more explicitly, no return email message. I am planning to just keep using another email service that I use. Thanks.

You know, I thought of Drug Enforcement Agency too first off when I saw DEA as an abbreviation for Disposable Email Address.. I browse thru this particular services forum on occasion, and I have seen a fair amount of 'slow/late delivery' type posts. I haven't experienced such a problem myself before, but I sure am now! The few addresses that I actively use them for are going to be easy enough for me to 'replace', so to speak, so I plan on just to stop using that service. I never used it for emails that I absolutely needed to receive anyway.

- bruce

add: Interestingly, when I checked the other email service I use, many emails that forward from that DEA service were waiting for me! Seems their email server was receiving the emails, but the 'forwarding process' wasn't working correctly/successfully.
