FastMail owns fastmail.COM?!
Am I the only one to whom it's news that FM now owns fastmail.COM?

You're right, we recently completed the purchase of fastmail.com after a couple of years of trying.
We've got a bunch of plans around it that we're working on, but nothing to announce yet. |

Congrats on finally snagging it . I hope you'll set it up so FMusers can receive email sent to it? Even as an FM user with a personal domain, I've sometimes found myself referring to fastmail.fm as .com incorrectly. So I'm sure a ton of misdirected mail intended for FM users goes to the .com.

Sure hope we can snag the .com version of our current .fm names. At least give us first crack? Price paid? Come on, just a hint. |

Great news indeed! Now I won't have to explain the "dot FM" thing to people. :-) I hope FM allows the full use of the new domain name soon.
Please do post an update in this thread! |

It may not have been available at a reasonable, or any, price back then. It took me 8 years to get my firstnamelastname.com domain, for example. Sometimes people change their mind about selling for reasons you're not privy to.
