FastMail owns fastmail.COM?!

Am I the only one to whom it's news that FM now owns fastmail.COM?

I would say anyone who uses fastmail and anyone who plans to use it?

fastmail.com is way way way better than fastmail.fm.. It still sounds like an american fastfood chain though.

Representative of:
Fastmail.fm
You're right, we recently completed the purchase of fastmail.com after a couple of years of trying.

We've got a bunch of plans around it that we're working on, but nothing to announce yet.

Congrats on finally snagging it . I hope you'll set it up so FMusers can receive email sent to it? Even as an FM user with a personal domain, I've sometimes found myself referring to fastmail.fm as .com incorrectly. So I'm sure a ton of misdirected mail intended for FM users goes to the .com.

Well done. Looking forward to hearing about those plans.

Every internationally recognised company should have their own .com.

Wow! Great news.

Sure hope we can snag the .com version of our current .fm names. At least give us first crack?

Price paid? Come on, just a hint.

Can't create an alias on fastmail.com yet I assume we'll be able to eventually.

Great news indeed! Now I won't have to explain the "dot FM" thing to people. :-) I hope FM allows the full use of the new domain name soon.

Please do post an update in this thread!

It may not have been available at a reasonable, or any, price back then. It took me 8 years to get my firstnamelastname.com domain, for example. Sometimes people change their mind about selling for reasons you're not privy to.
