Another option that I've been reccomending lately is Lop mail (http://www.lop2.com). They have a different interface than Fastmail, but a lot of people seem to like them. I also reccomend Fastmail though.

I've had a quick look at Lop mail but was put off by the lack of information about who they were, where they operated from and how their email service fitted in with their business - they seemed to be first and foremost a search engine - but, as always, I couold have missed something. (I didn't look too hard - after all I've already got fastmail ) |

Thumbs up! for fastmail
My vote goes to fastmail. I've used it only about a month now, and the service is fast, the customizability and options of fastmail are great, and the technical support excellent.

I agree with the rest with FastMail, but if you want a free service without tag lines, 10mb storage, ability to see photos open in your mail notes, etc, then check out Inbox.net. It's pretty cool! However, FastMail will always be my main choice and recommendation for a great service!

My Two Cents
OK, here's my list.
FastMail.fm Storage: 10 MB Bandwidth: 40 MB Ads: Onsite & Taglines Access: Web, IMAP I agree that for the AVERAGE user looking to do simple and efficient communication, FastMail plays second fiddle to no one! Of course, FastMail has it's well-known pay upgrades. Inbox.net Storage: 10 MB Ads: Onsite Access: Web A service that I have been watching go through several "interesting" growth spurts over the years. They seem to have stabilized for now. I would recommend them only as a backup account. MyRealBox.com Storage: 10 MB Ads: None Access: Web, IMAP, POP3, SMTP Another service that I suggest only the light users use. This is a demonstration product (like MochaMail.com) from Novell that could be altered, downgraded, or even shut down at any time and Novell reserves any and all rights to do so. Still, for power, it's a pretty nice free alternative. Address.com Storage: 6 MB Ads: Onsite & Taglines Access: Web I already discussed the nature of Address.com here. They seem to be stable again now, and match Yahoo in storage with 6 MB. For $8/year you can also get POP3 access to download mail. eng.Mail.ru Storage: 10 MB Ads: None? Access: Web, POP, SMTP, WAP, Forwarding If you don't mind a non-american domain name, this russian service is an excellent choice. Good storage, low ads (no ads?), and plenty of ways to access your mail (including multi-address forwarding) makes mail.ru a top international choice. JungleMate.com Storage: 3 MB? Ads: Taglines Access: Web A very reliable choice for those who keep their email volumes down and who like top-notch addressbook features, file uploads, and an erray of personal information management options. AnyTimeNow.com Storage: 20 MB Ads: None Access: Web Another site like JM that allows for information management and file uploads, it's actually a bit more robust in terms of the quota they give you. But like all free services with no advertisements, don't expect this service to last long. I only put this service up here because of its ability to send from different "From" addresses, which works well if you can forward your mail from a free email address to this service and reply using the forwarding address. Well, that should keep you busy enough. Good Luck, Trip Last edited by Trip : 4 May 2002 at 02:20 AM. |

Anytimenow isn't even sure they're going to pay. They're just sure they're not continuing as is.

Thanks a lot guys.
This site sure is useful. I tried out as few. Looks like fastmail is good. I have had enough of yahoo with their ever changing policies. |
