I use Irfanview to resize pictures in large numbers. The last time I used it, it resized 250 pictures for me in about 1 minute

After you open the program choose File -> Batch conversion. Then put a checkmark in front of Advanced options, then click the Advance Options button and put in the new size you want.

Irfanview is a free program BTW

Hi Killer,

Yes it does. To do that, click on File -> Batch conversion/Rename, then put a checkmark in front of Batch rename, then click on the "set rename options" button and then you can rename the images to whatever you want and include numbers too like file001, file002 etc.

That's awesome! I've been using IrfanView for a while now, but never played around with all the features. Cool stuff!

It is funny that we got a large numbers of pic viewers but not much softwares to do mass rename of files to generic+numeric order and do mass resize. A pain for my PC when I need to handle such a event

For all of you that use Irfanview, there is a new version out. The new version includes a lot of updates to the program. You can find more information here.

I have been using Irfanview for years as well, but I never noticed the batch conversion! I downloaded some other tool especially for that! How stupid can you get!

Thanks for the hint, mammaduck!
