Dutchie thanks for Jubii and the friendly remarks about Swedes.
Yes Jubii is very famous just me poor memory now

dared to join I am too dependent on free things already.

Tsunami maybe we are not as North Korea but we
are very much like former German Democratic Republic

I sure would like to know some large (free) Scandinavian mail providers...I can register with spray.se...but somehow I can not log in afterwards...very funny:-(
I guess they have a IP check?? (I am in Paraguay).

Dutchie.
No, No. Registering in In.com is open for all. Indeed they ask for a cell phone number but its not mandatory to provide one. They don't verify the number either.

I tried two days in a row to create two different accounts. All seemed to go well and the registrations were accepted, followed by a notice that to complete the process a confirmation email would be sent to the secondary address I provided, but in both cases no confirmation message was ever sent to either of the accounts that I entered when I registered. I don't think a mobile number (or the lack of it) has anything to do with the problem, since that field is not marked with a "mandatory" asterisk and so is not required. Clearly, however, there is some sort of problem.

The final screen of the registration process says:

-----------------------------------------------------
"Thank you for signing up! A confirmation email has been sent to xxxx@xxxx.xxxx. Please follow the instructions in the email to authenticate your account. In most cases you should receive the verification mail within minutes. If not please check your Spam/Junk/Bulk Mail folders for the mail. In some cases depending on your email system it could take longer, however, if you don't get an email from us within half an hour, please write to us at feedback@in.com."
-----------------------------------------------------

So far I haven't bothered to write to them. The address is not a dedicated support address for email but is the general comment address for the entire portal, so I doubt that any result would be obtained by bringing the problem to their attention in that way, but one can never tell. Perhaps I'll try it and see, but at present it doesn't really seem to be worth the bother.

In.com

I agree in.com doesn't worth that much trouble. They are a basic email service which doesn't provide many features. Here in India, they manage to get a lot of users for reasons other than their email service. An in.com id gives access to some other popular websites like MTV India or CNN India. Also they provide In-drive, 10 gb cloud storage space which they are providing long before sky drive or Google drive. In.com email service is online/active since 1999, so they have some loyal users too. Not to mention, the short domain name attracts some users.

webmail.co.za has a good user base in South Africa. I don't think we can sign up. I did not try signing up seeing so many South Africa specific questions in registration form. South Africa has another free email service with the domain mame gmail.co.za. You can register here http://webmail.gmail.co.za/gmail.aspx?link=site_home

May be it's free, but has weird ideas about users' privacy.
From their FAQ:
Quote:
Q: When I logged into my email account, I went to someone else's inbox

A: This is probably because the person who logged on before you did not LOG OUT when they were finished. When you logged in with a different username and password, it sent you to the previous person's account.

From their FAQ:
Thanks for the information. I guess they wanted to mean "in the same computer". Its universal. If you log into any account and then forget to log out, the next person using the same computer trying to access same website will be carried to your account.

Thanks. I found yandex's domain email is pretty solid.
If you guys need an account at my domain, please PM me.
the domain is @nsbeta.info, it has solid DNS hosting, which you can check that by dig, to keep the service stable.

The signup process for gmail.co.za seemed simple enough, after which a message appeared above the login area:

Quote:
Registering [username]@gmail.co.za, [username]@gmail.co.za was registered
However, upon attempting to login using the supposedly registered email address:

Quote:
Your username or password is incorrect
Is there a delay before the account is available?

congratulation for your new toy, boy. :-) I see, you are no less an addict. Don't kill me for joking. I guess, I should run now and park my username there too. I pity those who have the same first name as mine.. 'cause they never stand a chance to have an email id like firstname@example.com.
