Best Email Manager at 2023???
HI Everyone,
I thought I'd ask: I'm an ex-EUDORA user who still has not found a home I am happy with. I've tried Thunderbird, then moved on to Mailbird. Have been using Mailbird for a couple years - but it seems very "rinky-dink"...issues never addressed by the tech team etc. And the searching function is just AWFUL. I'm ready to make a move - but not sure "to where"?? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!! |

Since the bird is the word (The Trashmen - Surfin Bird - Bird is the Word 1963), have you tried Betterbird?

I've never used either of them, but I do lurk on a low-traffic forum where Pandora users help each other use Pandora. If you're thinking about using Pandora I'd suggest you read EVERYTHING that's on the forum to get a better feel for Pandora's approach, and also read the whole of the "release notes" file from Pandora's own website (to see how things it does started off and have been revised since they were first set-up; I did that a while ago because it was the only way to get a feel for what it can and can't do.) My impression is that - as with so many products - documentation lags a long way behind the product. AND, although Pandora may have a look and feel that seems familiar to Eudora users, that internally it is different. That forum is at: https://pandoramail.forumotion.net/ Pandora's own website is poor, unfortunately. It's at: https://www.drivehq.com/web/brana/pandora.htm A fan wrote a more-compelling description of Pandora - see: https://pandoramail.com/ Pandora is under constant development, with the most recent update issued yesterday (02 JUNE 2023). |

I spent three days trying to do a clean install of Thunderbird on a new laptop. It was never able to access my AOL account. Today I downloaded BETTERBIRD - and BOY is it BETTER!!! took about 5 minutes to download and install - no SMTP nonsense. Linked right into the SAME AOL account which Thunderbird could never access. It's been about 3 hours and 20,000 emails are already downloaded!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! |

Outbox?
As i mentioned above, the BETTERBIRD system hooked up beautifully, and downloaded about 60,000 emails from the inbox. All within 24 hours.
I'm noticing the OUTBOX (another 20,000 "sent" emails) does not appear to be downloading. Is there a trick to getting these imported as well? Next -I'll be trying to get the system to import my old EUDORA files (another 100,000 emails) and I'll be all set!!! |
