Thumbs up

Just saw the new mobile calendar interface. How should I say... hmm...

It's a dream!!

Also, the auto weekly view landscape mode appears to be a great idea. There's just no option to add events or to return to email etc yet, but I expect it's not finished yet.

Keep up this extraordinary development!

I like the birthday calendar as well!
Is it planned to make it available for caldav to sync as an extra calendar?

Setting up FastMail Calendar on my Mac in iCal

I hope that someone can help me to finally get the FastMail calendar working in iCal on my Mac (OS X 10.9.2), because I am still receiving the message "The server responded with an error. The URL https://caldav.messagingengine.com/d...xxx@xxxxx.xxx/ encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct."

This what I did, but unfortunately did not work:

1. I opened "System Preferences"
2. Internet Accounts
3. Add Other Account...
4. Add a CalDAV Account
5. Account Type: Advanced
Username: xxxxx@xxxxx.xxx (my Fastmail username)
Password: xxxx (of course my password)
Server Address: https://caldav.messagingengine.com/
Server Path: /dav/calendars/user/xxxxx@xxxxx.xxx/
SSL: activated
Port: I did not enter anything
Use Kerberos ...: I did not activate it

Any ideas are appreciated? Thank you very much!

Here it works with:

Server Address: caldav.messagingengine.com (no https)
Server Path: /dav/principals/user/username@domain/

Port: Auto, Use SSL

You need to have an enhanced account to use caldav.

Great Can you please check if you are able to create a new calendar from within iCal (File > New Calendar). This does not work here, though calendars created in the web interface do appear in iCal.

Thanks.

Calendars are most likely not included
in the old free guest accounts only for
those who pay for Fastmail.

Google and Yahoo has calendars too for free.

Yes, it works. I can create new calendars in iCal, but not via the menu "File > New Calendar" but with a right click in the left calendar menu (context menu) new calendar.

Ah, didn't try that, yes this is working here, too. Thanks.

I have another "minor" problem...

If I change the order of calendars (in iCal or via the web interface) e.g.

1. Work
2. Personal

to

1. Personal
2. Work

and then shut down iCal and open it again, iCal changes the order of calendars back to the original state. I have already tried it multiple times, but iCal won't let my change the order.

Great to have the birthdays now shown in the calendar web interface!

So I just uploaded my iOS contacts with the (also new?) import option. I realized that where I left the year of birth field blank in my iOS contacts, it is set to 1604 in my FastMail contacts. That wouldn't matter to me but those contacts aren't displayed in the birthday calendar. This sould be fixed.

Not only won't CalDAV be available for FM's free accounts, it won't be available for Lite or Full accounts either. Enhanced or greater only. This has caused some dissatisfaction among this forum's users.

I added event with my mobile via caldav-sync. On my PC I opened calendar to see if it sync.
I saw my mistake so i edit event on my mobile (on pc i had still event details popup view, i mean i clicked on event to see popped up event frame) in meantime mobile synced event and then on pc i get error and browser closed calendar to display 'mail'. I clicked back to calendar and click on event to see details and saw updated event.
Hmmm... i suppose that if someone is watching event details when that event is synced that something is happening....
