Email client suggestions wanted

Would like to see what sort of alternatives there are to MS Outlook or Thunderbird. What 'stand-alone' email clients can replace them? By 'stand-alone', I mean email clients that do not depend on MS Outlook, MS Office, & Thunderbird to function.

In addition to Thunderbird I use FossaMail (http://www.fossamail.org/) which is based on the Mozilla code but is a separate client.

I like EMClient on Windows and plain old Apple Mail on Mac (Postbox is good to, and its based on Thunderbird). However I mainly use Webmail about 95% of the time.

+1 I am finding "rich" web mail clients (in combination with browser extensions) are becoming quite good at rivaling desktop apps.
