City in Maryland, USA. It is also the capitol of the state and is where the U.S. Naval Acedemy is located.

Note: I'm not sure if this one has been done already. I couldn't find a "lookup feature" like the chain of song names.

In the city there is an iodine resort, which was built in 1904. Its water temperature is about 30 C. On the base of the material, which were found we know that this area was inhabited from the V millennium BC. First written mention of Becej is dated since 1091"

Monterey -- bringing this back to California: Home of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, famous for John Steinbeck's fictional writings of the people and places in and around there, near Pebble Beach where a golf tournament is held, and next to Pacific Grove which is famous as a gathering place for the migration of monarch butterflies.

Azusa -- city in Southern California. If I remember from childhood correctly, the name of this city comes from the letters "A" to "Z" U.S.A. Azusa. At least that's what I remember my dad telling me how they came up with the name.

Toledo

Many cities all over the American continent are called Toledo, but I'm referring to the original one; a medieval city where muslims, jews and christians could live in peace for hundreds of years. These were happy days...

dragon1 - I heard that also. This is either fact or an urban legend. When I have a free moment, I'll try to do a search to verify/disprove this.

AberdeeN - a town in Maryland, USA

Can anyone give me an E or a T? (Not so I can phone home.) I'm chomping at the bit for two cities I'm dying to post.

EDIT: Never mind - I remembered we have the "funny geographical names" thread.
