Pity as it's probably one of the few Pacific Islands mail services actually run from one of the Pacific islands itself. Many sites (and mails) could use a .nu, .cc, .tv, .fm, etc extention but are run by providers nowhere near the actual islands.

I tried to get a jubii.dk account but you need a Danish cell phone # to receive the mandatory text registration message. web.de didn't like my non-German ip address.

OK.de and LUmail.lu are neat domains Never heard of these services. Have they been around for a while or are those quite recent initiatives?

I don't think you can register an ok.de account without an EU mobile number. Lumail and Firemail didn't demand a mobile number though. Overmail's registration page is almost identical to Firemail's, I wonder if they're the same service at the back end. Scientillion doesn't work at all for me, I get "can't connect to storage server" error popups.

I do not know about ice.is

to me actualy it looks like a site for small dogs;-)

I can't see anything related to signing up for an email service.

QIP.ru....should be there. Large Russian chat service and news site...with free email.

speedmail.se...allthough many scandinavian Email providers only let you open an account from an IP from their country and with a cellphone number from there.

Qaleido.nl.......is also a free email provider in the Netherlands.

mail.ru anyone??? Pretty awesome imho. Hard to beat.

Disadvantage with most German (free) Email providers is that they always want an address....:-(

I seriously have my doubts about some of those services mentioned in the OP list...I would not use them on a daily basis. Just my 2 cents.

I think you only can set up an account at freeola IF you are having internet from them....

True...WEB.DE only accepts signups from Germany,Austria or Switserland.

Anyway...I would't be too sad about it as web.de kindda su.x.

All the Danish providers I've tried require SMS verification to a country code 45 (Denmark) cell phone number, and there aren't any free web SMS receiving services that have such numbers. Boo!

I have both a mail.ru and Yandex account but they seem pretty interchangeable.

ice.is and email.is used to be functioning Icelandic email services. I had a free account for a long time at email.is, but it was deleted without explanation and what can only be described as a bribe to restore the account and my data was demanded, with payment going not to the service but to a specific individual. Even now, although no service grid with prices or services is shown, if you go to email.is you will get a screen saying if you want an email account at that domain someone will offer you some sort of "deal." I can tell you that it is likely to cost at least thirty euros a year, an outrageous price. As for ice.is, yes, it seems that the same people now use it as their family chihuahua site -- hardly a recommendation to pay them as email providers!

ice.is? Wouldn't want to use that one as it sounds too much like ISIS! xD

I don't understand that with German email servers - what do they want the address for? T-Online and
Tutanota don't ask for an address so it's not like they need that info. The company that runs web.de & gmx.net, 1&1, don't ask for an address if you sign up for a gmx.com account outside Germany (they have servers in the USA too).
