Listening to Nitro Function - Powerhouse:

Unusual, for 1971, to have a female guitar player.

Also, the album has one of the famous Roger Dean album covers.

Very good choice! I've been a big fan of them since many years. They played "International Blue" during their performance at Brussels Summer Festival recently. Their performance was, as usual, great from A to Z!

My favourite Manics song would be a tough choice to make, but I guess either "A design for life", "The masses against the classes", or "Little baby nothing". Even though this doesn't do justice to the likes of "Everything must go", "Tsunami", "Motorcycle emptiness", "Autumnsong", "William's last words", ...

It's difficult to have one favourite but if pushed I would have to say 'Indian Summer' , but all their songs are awesome and in my view are getting better the older they get.

They indeed still produce quality music, and that after 30 years of existance I don't really have a favourite era.

I do think it is tempting for them to play mainly the big classics that everyone knows, with the risk that some albums don't have any songs in the setlists for a long time. That's always the downside of bands with such an impressive back catalogue. In fact they could easily do a concert of 2 or 2.5 hours and it would still be amazing from the first to the last second.

I miss the site manics.nl, which used to analyse every song lyric and sum up the references, quotes, etc in their lyrics. That site was a true gem. I don't know if it is archived somewhere. It was truly a great resource.
