Where is the Concise stylesheet?

It was as it said on the tin: concise. And I liked the colors.

I used it for years.

Now when I switch back to classic, there's no more concise stylesheet.

What else can you go wrong with?!!?

For what it's worth, I would LOVE the new and upgraded FastMail with these two features back from the previous classic interface:

-concise stylesheet
-the quick edit from address without having to use personalities (which creates a big hassle if you need to have multiple names over multiple domains)

I have managed to get "concise" working again. Someone also mention the black background theme which I got working too. I'll post a "How To" if anyone needs it.

Please post the "How to" for both stylesheets in very simple terms for those of us who are very simple!

I would like to access them from the Classic UI, but there are others who would like to do so from the new Ajax interface

Thanks in advance.

NJSS

PS Here's some gen about Ajax:-

Please do share ... I was thinking of looking into this, but am exhausted and figured I would wait. There are many who will be interested.

Note that the themes section is rather naked at the moment, that will change in the coming weeks, with more themes that work across both new and classic.

You could have just left the classic themes where they were and many would have been happy with that. All you have doen is caused a lot of unnecessary distress and ill feeling.

I need to be careful how I distribute the .css files as they are not my work as they were downloaded from Fastmail.

They are probably in the public domain & were uploaded by users in the first instance.

Do they have copyright or other notices?

If not I think you are safe - but if you wanted to be 100% sure ask johanborg to confirm that FM are happy for the style sheets to be shared.

Perhaps, just provide links to the old style sheets, and a few words on how to copy them to the user File Storage. Actually, thinking about it can you just add a
Code:
@IMPORT  url('fastmail.fm/....')
to the top of an existing custom style sheet.

Brong, care to help us out?

Update: THERE'S NO NEED FOR THIS PROCEDURE NOW AS FASTMAIL HAVE RESTORED THE ORIGINAL STYLE SHEET SELECTION. I'll remove the links to the style sheets in due course.

Oh well here's hoping I don't get my fingers burned!

Only do this if you are confident with the procedure. Note that it may interfere with updates and improvements made by Fastmail in the coming days. I cannot give any guarantees that it will work for you or for how long it will work.

The links shown below will download the relevant style sheet. I will add more if requested. The files themselves are the property of Fastmail unless told otherwise. They need to be renamed as main.css before they can be used.

Concise
Infinite Blackness
Standard
Minimal
Naturals

This is not all my own work but a collection of instructions produced by others.

To start with log in like this:- (You currently always have to log in this way but Fastmail may have an improvement on the way)
  1. Logout
  2. Re-enter username and password
  3. Check "Use classic interface"
  4. Click "Log in"; the classic interface loads
When logged in follow this process:- (You only need to do this once)

Enable the custom mode for stylesheets:
  1. Go to Settings > Account Preferences.
  2. In the Display section, make sure Custom Styles checkbox is checked and click Save Changes
Create a folder {My Files}/custom-ui/css in your Fastmail Files storage:
  1. Go to Files.
  2. In the selection box labeled More actions, click create subfolder.
  3. In the box that appears, enter "custom-ui" and click Do.
  4. Click on the newly created folder custom-ui to move into it
  5. In the selection box labeled More actions, click create subfolder.
  6. In the box that appears, enter "css" and click Do.
  7. Click on the newly created folder css to move into it
Upload your preferred main.css file to the {My Files}/custom-ui/css folder:
  1. If not already there, go to Files
  2. Click the css folder on the left side within the custom-ui folder
  3. In the upload section at the bottom, select your xxxx-main-raw.css file using the Browse button, and click Upload.
  4. Rename the uploaded file as main.css and it should start to work immediately.

Good luck!

It's possible that the links to the old style sheets may disappear at anytime. In fact they are not all there as it is.

I tried the url method but couldn't get it to work properly. I think the default style sheet may interfere with it somehow. I decided I had spent enough time experimenting with it once I had a solution that worked for me.

Nothing personal, but note that we've heard promises like this before, that were never fulfilled. Forgive us for being skeptical.
