Did you try to log in directly? It's faster http://www.runbox.com/files

I think it's because of synchronistion issues that it takes some time when moving from webmail to files directly. But the other forum members here might tell you more

I've never had a problem moving between mail and files.

It might be related to the servers being bogged down today. But I'm not sure.

Rich

I don't know if this issue was solved. Here Geirs explanation

The reason it sometimes takes a while to access the Files web interface is that the web application needs to check your home directory on disk for new files that might have been changed since your last login, and insert information about those files into the database.

You see, the FTP server currently in use (to allow for FTP connections as well as browser access) is unfortunately unable to update the database with information about what files were being uploaded, deleted, or renamed. The web application, on the other hand, doesn't go all the way down to the file system to know what files are there, but gets this information from the database. This, in theory, is much faster than checking the file system all the time. However, it means that logging in to Files on the web takes more time, especially if you have many files there.

We have a new FTP server in the works, and hope to deploy it shortly after the new web application (which is in its final stages) is launched. The new FTP server will also update the database, meaning that logging in to Files should be as snappy as anything.
