mailbox.org works just fine and it's cheap, 1 EUR per month.

This server could not prove that it is www.eumx.net; its security certificate is from ssl.eumx.net. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

Proceed to www.eumx.net (unsafe)

you should use ssl.eumx.net. It is the name for all SMTP/POP/IMAP servers and for the webmail, too. They also have a new platform under secure.eumx.net.

Two points:
1) connection to plain eumx.net should be automatically redirected to ssl.eumx.net
2) connections to all available EuMX web interfaces force https:, so the actual work connection is secure.

That's right. ssl.eumx.net should be used all the time. Unencrypted front page of eumx.net posts data over encrypted channel to ssl.eumx.net and recirects when you access web mail. Automatic redirection could be useful to keep browsers happy.
