Question MailTo feature not working

Do I need to download it again?

When clicking on an email address on a web page, it's not working lately.

How can I set fastmail as my default mailto: ?

Perhaps the following link will help.

http://www.emaildiscussions.com/...ilto#post93348

edit: to add this link
This older link might be the better one.

Well, maybe that link has been updated. It's working now, however, I got the following message when clicking on an email address:
Quote:
You appear to be using an old style hyperlink. If you got this message because you used an existing bookmark/hyperlink, please delete the existing link.

If you want to bookmark the login screen, please just bookmark this link: http://www.fastmail.fm/

If you want to bookmark a particular page, please go to that page, and then bookmark it again.
that seems a bit wierd.

FastCheck implements the mailto: URLs as well. However, since the recent changes, you will get a warning when the compose web page is opened. Until I release a new version (hopefuly very soon), you have to ignore the warning (the mail will definitely be sent!).

Also, going to this URL will open the compose window:
http://www.fastmail.fm/mail/?MSignal=MsgCompose-@0

This works independently on which server you are on, but doesn't fill up the to: and subject: fields.

I've updated the registry script at:

http://jhoward.fastmail.fm/mailto_fm.reg

So that it shouldn't give the warning anymore.

spiderman: There are 2 main differences in the URL's:
1. You don't need the /~0000000000000000/ part for the session id anymore, it's passed as part of the CGI params after the ? if needed
2. The signal should be 'MSignal=MC-FromName@0,%1'. The first thing after the @ should always be a 0 now.

I would like to use this, but what does this registration entry do to my system? Can I revert back to Outlook Express if I choose to later? Thanks.

Tools/Internet Options/Programs > Put OE for Email. That should do it. This is for IE. Not sure of the others.
