Cannot connect to Pop/Hotmail retrieve system

I know fastmail was down this morning, and now it's back up...but I can't check my pop links, and I get the error:

Cannot connect to Pop/Hotmail retrieve system

I verified my settings, I've been using them for months anyway.

any ideas/help welcome...

I'm having the same error message "Cannot connect to Pop/Hotmail retrieve system"

I keep wondering if it's something that's reset w/my account or if it's related to the "outage" we had.

My POP access isn't "intermittent" it's just plain down.

I've also been getting the POP access error consistantly since the outage. It sounds like a problem with FastMail, not a problem with your settings.

No surprise, but I can't get my pop email either. Any info about what's happening/when it will be back. Any ideas for other ways to get this mail (I can't log onto one of those mail servers directly, but pop retrieve normally works)? This is getting to be a real problem!

To quickly check your POP mail while FastMail is down, try:
www.mail2web.com

My hotmail checking is working fine.
I don't have any pop accounts to check though.

I have both POP and HotMail accounts, and I can't access either. It looks like this problem affects only certain users.

Try it now--the POP retrieve process wasn't restarted on server3 correctly.
