Anyone here use Autistici/Inventati?

How reliable are they? I couldn't find any review about their service.

According to their blurb, "A/I was born more than 10 years ago".
Draw your own conclusion.

Yes, I use it. You must download manually the SSL certificate and they are using Roundcube. You can also use the VPN they offer, changing every week if I remember well (I used it some time ago but I am not using it now).
You can also add 5 aliases in AI email. I use it with Thunderbird and GPG without problems.

Read the website and you will understand why. You must be accepted by them and they work by donations.

There is no logical link between "being accepted and making donations" and "no reviews".

The connection is they havenīt a lot of members as other email services, so itīs more difficult to find more reviews, and they value privacy. Thatīs what I mean.

I’m using their email service for 3 years or so. They allow very original aliases, and generally. I’m very pleased with their service. However, lately, they tend to have unexpected maintenance, or outcomes if you will. As result, it is not uncommon, that your friends let you know, in day or two, that they couldn’t reach your email via Autistici. Also, some ISP email servers are not always happy with Autistici, and occasionally they return error when you send something. It is not constant, but it happens, from time to time.

I’ve made a habit to first check whether they really available , whenever I can’t reach their service or something is wrong, because, Thunderbird likes to play tricks when they are not available. Also, you should never forget to update their certificate, which they tend to warn you in timely fashion

For example, they are down as we speak, and for the first time, Thunderbird sent me this ASE

They have changed, or are about to change, their security certificate. Probably that's why your TB is unhappy...

I use them for low-priority, non-essential messages. I wouldn't consider them for anything more 'mission critical'.
