Moving over 2 Fastmail
Hello,
I already uploaded my Yahoo! Addressbook into fastmail. Now I just need to transfer all my Yahoo Emails over. Is IMAP the only way to do that? I remember awhile ago fastmail had a feature of retrieving yahoo mail. Can that still be done? And If thats not is there any other way to get my Yahoo mail over to fastmail? Thanks, -- Spin |

Yahoo! was the one that disabled that. Is your Yahoo! a free account? If it is, are they still offering that 30 day trial for Yahoo! plus? If they are doing that, take the trial, and then pop your mail into FM, or Pop it into Outlook express and then copy it to FM via IMAP. That's all I can think of short of forwarding all of them individually. But, maybe someone else will have a better answer.

Hrm....how about http://www.jmasoftware.com/english/p.../features.html They have a module that supposedly works with Yahoo (made 9/10/04, so it may be out of date, but it's worth a try, no?) Best of luck, Trip EDIT: I just tried it with an old free Y! account I had, no luck. I'll search like mad for something Spin, there's got to be some hack somewhere. That worked. Im now getting pop3 from Yahoo!, for 30 days at least free, so I have to transfer all my mails over in 30 days. So I guess i'll have to move all my important mails out of their folders and place them in the inbox, retrieve them 2 thunderbird. Then drag and drop them to my inbox on my fastmail account. The only thing is I'll fill up my account right away. So in 30 days I have to upgrade to full or enhanced. So I think Im doing this right, i'll try it with one message and see if it works.

Heya Spin,
I can email you a keygen if you want so you can use the program past 30 days without paying. Consider it an "emergency solution" rather than complete piracy. Just PM me if you need to. Glad something worked for ya, Trip |

Another option, should you ever need it the Web2Pop stops working, is to register for a free 100 MB FuseMail account, which lets you poll Yahoo through in a non-POP3 way, much like Web2Pop. Then you can IMAP from FuseMail to FastMail directly.
Best, Trip |

Thanks for all the suggestions trip. Actually I went through and got all my important mail i needed to keep. I put it in my yahoo inbox, and transfered it to my fastmail guest account, its taking up like 60 or 70 percent of the inbox, but my full account should be active sunday or monday when the paypal thing is confirmed, so I have it all set up at fastmail now.

Glad to hear things worked out, Spin. And we didn't even have to do things illegally!

Also:
I believe that Yahoo Plus refunds you the prorated difference if you cancel from the account early, so you can just subscribe to Yahoo Plus for a few days while you transfer the pop email addresses. |
