Question IMAP Problem with Apple Mail

First, I'm on a trial Runbox account and having a problem. Runbox support hasn’t come up with an explanation or solution.

On iOS everything is operating normally.

On macOS Sierra and Apple Mail, the INBOX refuses to display. Although the app shows a successful connection and "downloading" messages, nothing appears in the INBOX. The server settings would appear to be correct because other mailboxes - SENT, TRASH, ARCHIVE etc are loading and showing the content as expected. The INBOX path is blank in my server settings as support instructed me but no messages appear in the index.

Any suggestions of what could be happening and how to solve it would be appreciated, especially before my trial runs out.

Thanks

Hello. Could you update your Runbox support ticket again please so that I can see which customer you are in our system I doubt if we have exhausted the possibilities here yet.

Apple Mail can get confused if you have folders inside your Inbox and then won't display any mail in the Inbox even though the Inbox folder itself will be displayed. You can check whether there are folders inside the Inbox in the webmail. I haven't seen this problem in recent versions of Apple Mail though.

Also, Avast antivirus is known to block the Inbox without any errors showing. Putting mail.runbox.com in the allowed server list fixes this problem.

I would like to respond to your support ticket though so that I can check your account settings again. Thanks.
