I have real issues for the past few weeks logging in to Fastmail with the Edge server. Usually -- but not 100% of the time -- the problem goes away when I switch to Chrome or Firefox.

That seems likely to be a cookies issue. The next time you encounter the issue, try clearing cookies and see if this resolves the problem.
