Thunderbird help

Hi, I have just changed to Thunderbird and I an stuck with a few things, first A system Integration box appears on start up, do I need it? & how do I safely remove it, because at the moment I click the "Skip Integration" just to remove it in order to get on with reading my mails.

Second I have imported my address book but when I write a mail and click onto Write > To: it does not show, but it is if I click on "Write" > Tools > Address Book it is there.

Third, I have imported my saved email folders into Thunderbird but there were no mails in them, what did I do wrong

Any help most appreciated, regards Robert
