How Do You Move Emails To New Hard Drive With Outlook 2010

I am using Outlook 2010 on a Windows 10 64 bit Dell laptop. The hard drive is going bad and I need to move all of the emails to an external hard drive before I replace the bad hard drive.

The email setup in Outlook is POP3. If I understand correctly all of the emails are stored in a PST file. Can someone please tell me where the Outlook 2010 PST file is located and how I move the emails (PST) from the bad hard drive to an external drive and then move the emails back to the new hard drive after I re-install Outlook 2010?

Unfortunately the back up is bad so I have to re-install everything from scratch. Thanks very much for your help.

First read this article. Near the end you will find how to find the .pst file:
Introduction to Outlook Data Files (.pst and .ost)

To import the saved .pst data into a new installation of Office, see:
Import email, contacts, and calendar from an Outlook .pst file

You can save from your current version (Outlook 2010) and import into that same version or a later version (such as Outlook 2016), as described in the import link above. I subscribe to Office 365 Home so I always have the latest version of Outlook and the other office tools (Word, Excel, etc.) installed on my PC's and iPad.
