RSS feed mail notification

I am looking for a program to mail changes in RSS-feeds. If anybody has any pointers to such a program please let me know. I have not been able to find anything on Google.

More precisely I envision a program that retrieve the RSS-feed for a site, compare it with the feed for the last query, create an email with the changes and send it.

The program is supposed to run on a Linux server where I have full root access, so I'm quite flexible with other systems it might require, as long as it is not Windows specific.
