I do HOPE that we have some members here who know some magic, as I don't know much about magic myself. I do like to listen to this kind of magic however.

Is a discussion of rock styles the CORE activity of EMD?

If you DARE to ask a lawyer why they always answer a question with a question, they will likely answer: do I?

I wonder if Super DAVE Osborne (Bob Einstein) could make a superhero appearance and make us all smile.

FARE thee well, old fashioned VHS tape technology. If you fare as the old 78 rpm records (which are now in rare supply) you will succeed indeed, again - exponentially - as before.

I am running LATE here but another line of thought is that one should laugh at one's problems, as everyone else does.
A little corny no doubt |

Our stress RATE would probably be increasingly lower if we were in fact capable of doing this!
In regards to the VHS: we have 5 VHS VCR's in working order in our house( we have several hundred tapes for them); 3 working DVD players(probably have about 100 of these movies), my *stereo* system is a Sony *ghetto blaster* that my parents bought me in 1984, that plays cassettes (which I have tons of), I own about 200 Vinyl records; however, at the moment I do not possess a record player. We also have 6 Computers in the house, 3 running Windows 7, 2 running Windows XP, and one running Linux-Ubantu version. I do not possess a cell phone, nor does my husband, two of our kids do, but they pay for them themselves. Sooooo-- we are using ancient technology still! The reasons are: for financial reasons (mostly), holding on to things that work(frugality), and having 5 kids and me being a homemaker has just made me of the mindset, well if you have something that works and doesn't need replacing, why replace it! We still have the old-fashioned televisons too, not flat screens(we had one but was my son's when he moved out he took it with him). Two of our computers have the very large old-fashioned monitors too! Hehe! Susan |

It's nice to see folks who do not participate in the technology RACE (by choice or otherwise)

I have to go out and RAKE leaves today (with a rake) - it would be nice to have some more recent technology

Most of my hand tools are 25 to 30 years old, so I can MAKE do with old things. But I no longer use slide rules, typewriters, or vacuum tubes on a daily basis.
