Fastmail app for iOS

awesome news - I have always wanted a separate app for Fastmail.

...not yet showing on the UK app store though.

We can see the apps from here, and many people do have them installed already. I guess it just takes a while for Google/Apple to roll them out all over the world.

Thrilled to see the app at last! But am I correct that notifications only work for messages in the inbox? No notifications for other folders?

Fast Fastmail app on IOS. I'm getting visual notifications to my iPhone, but no sounds. Is that what is expected?

Correct, only the inbox.

Yes, no sounds right now. I'm just looking over the push service guide and I think its fairly easy to add. I'll look into it.

Thanks, Rob. That's good to know, although it's disappointing news. Guess I'm going to have to stick with my regular system of using the mobile site and Boxcar for notifications.

I'm getting sounds but only from the Mail App which arrive at 15 minute intervals. It would be great if you could co-ordinate the sound with the visual alert or banner..

Very nice but advanced settings and files are missing. If clicks on the login log, the browser opens. These things should all be available from within the app.

Great to see an native app. Hoping notifications for folders (other than the inbox) is on the product development roadmap?

Are communications between the FastMail app and its servers encrypted?

The app's behavior is disappointing in several areas on my iPhone 5S:
1) It only displays in Portrait mode. Any e-mail with wide embedded graphics will require scrolling from side to side.

2) Neither Landscape mode nor pinching are available.

3) Despite checking the sound option, no sound is made when an e-mail arrives. If the phone is in my pocket or otherwise not visible from where I am, I will not know a new e-mail has arrived.

4) Landscape mode is available on my iPad 2. It would be very helpful if it were present on the iPhone as well.

Yes, over time we'll be making settings and other services available through the app.
