Address book - Classic UI - Unwelcome addressbook changes

Suddenly all my "Quick Contacts" have been replaced with a new list - nothing like the old list & forenames only, not forenames & surnames as heretofore.

Likewise "searching" in the address fields has become slow & "Clunky" - FM please reverse whatever change you have made in the last few hours.

not just Classic....

several friends are using the new version and they, too, are having issues. Please change it back!!

FM, I'm all for making things more streamline or efficient, but:

COULD YOU PLEASE WARN US WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO DO SOMETHING???? It seems completely unprofessional to me that I am paying someone for a service and they don't give advanced warning that I might not be getting my money's worth during such and such date because of changes.

I strongly suggest submitting a support ticket (I did).
It seems FM doesn't consider something as an issue until it is reported via the official channel. See this thread (particularly post #24 onwards) for an example.

Even worse, it seems now to be addressing the "To" fields using just forenames. Fine for close friends, embarrassing with business contacts!

I did put in a ticket, early this morning when it first happened. Getting ready to put in another because I can't manage my global address book anymore either. I've logged in to the master account, tried on my account with admin rights, and I'm not able to move contacts from one distribution list to another.

And the missing last name is BULLcrap. I use that field for special information - Cancer, Web Only, etc....important things that make it so I am not bothering folks that have asked to be put on hiatus. If FM doesn't want us to be using them in a spam way (mass emails to people that don't want them), the they are really screwing the pooch on this one!

@janusz

My problem with that is I don't recall seeing a place/option for us to try this in advance and give feedback. So I hope feedback after the fact works, too. I have no idea how anyone that uses FM for business could have approved/not complained, about the problems I am having, in the testing stages.

My "Quick Contacts" list contains now just arbitrary names
Only one name from my original list is there...
This is unbelieveable!
I would like to see a FM rep's response here ASAP!

It is 13 hours since this topic was first raised, and probably rather less since the first ticket was raised, yet apparently no response from FM either here, or in resolving the problem.

We need action now please.

I've rarely posted here, as overall I have been very happy with FastMail.

However this change in the address book is really appalling, don't Fastmail ever test changes before rolling them out into production?

Having made an error of this magnitude, of which they are apparently aware, why have they:-

1. Advised users of what has happened; and

2. Reversed the changes that they made yesterday.

This really is very poor customer service.

Why no response from FastMail - are they all watching The World Cup?

I have now submitted 3 tickets for 3 different problems related to this change

And I have received NO RESPONSE to any of them.

1. Can't add/edit contacts, gives me error that data I entered was wrong?
2. Have 2 dist lists in my global address book, no longer showing +/- to add or remove contacts from the lists, they are just sitting there! and creating a new dist list doesn't solve the problem - still no +/-
3. Contacts on the global list aren't being recognized in the sub accounts. If you communicate with a global contact, once you send the email it asks if you want to add them (oh, and shows "add" by their address when it comes in).

This is really getting ridiculous. I don't see anything on CNN about Australia falling off the face of the earth.

PS...even Facebook, who makes some of the most insanely stupid changes, at the most random times, alerts users that they are coming.
