Time Sensitive Ability to Delete Original Posts

I can understand the reason for not allowing the starter of a thread to delete an entire thread or follow-up responses in the archives.

However, it's common on many forums to have a time-sensitive period where the original poster has the discretion to delete a post after further thought.

Such time limitations I've seen on other vB forums range anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours. After the time limitation expires, only the mods/admin may delete an original post.
