gmail, yahoo, ect....

can a deleted gmail, yahoo, ect..... email account be hacked into by really slick and professional hackers??? what kind of hackers can still hack into a deleted email account regardless of who the service provider is??? but lets also assume that a gmail account wasnt deleted and someone hacked into it and it didnt really have like personal information but it had emails that were kind of sensitive like wikileaks i guess, what might happen if the hacker who got hold of those emails wasnt able to trace it back to the original owner and the person who emailed that original owner???? is anyone willing to take a shot here? rsvp.
