FastMail's calendar...
FastMail's calendar is almost ready
http://i.imgur.com/Ax1BLKv.png http://i.imgur.com/cbDAY0f.png Looks nice. I hope they'll be able to release this + CardDav + CalDAV support before end of year. |

Heh, you found it
Right now we're doing testing on beta. You will have noticed that there isn't really much you can do with it, as right now only FastMail staff can access the calendar backend servers. Without that available you just get a very pretty shell. Right now we're still on track to release calendar and CalDAV by the end of the year. CardDAV is a maybe - backend support is in test already (I have my Android phone syncing), but there's extra work because we have to swap out the existing contacts system to use it. We're working on it, but it might take another month or two. |

This is AWESOME! I can't wait to be able to use this. I've been looking for something like it for years! Once the calendar and CardDAV are working, fastmail will have just about everything that I need. (The missing thing being support for sending plain text messages as format=flowed.)

Will it be accessible from the classic interface? I occasionally log out from classic and log in to the new interface when I need to do full text search over the entire mailbox, but I don't see myself doing it to access the calendar.

No, the calendar will not be available in the classic interface.

I found it as well. I'm seeing the week as being Monday (left) thru Sunday (right). That's certainly not the way I would want to have my calendar appear. I'd prefer Sun (left) thru Sat (right). I'm assuming - hoping - there will be an option to allow personal preferences in this regard. ???
P.S. I only see "overview" and "detail" view. Can't find "outline" view. |

I'm not going to comment on it right now - its not in public preview or beta or anything like that and is missing most of its functionality for you guys because of the lack of backend server access. The screens are still being developed.
When we're ready for feedback, we'll let you know. |

Nice to know Calendar and Contacts are in serious development for the new interface; but that will leave me with a difficult decision.
Do I abandon the classic interface whose advanced features regularly I use in order to embrace the extra features of the new interface? It would be really nice to have the classic interface advanced features available in the new interface. But I do understand there are only so many hours in the day for the Fastmail team! |

If you want a real Advent Calendar look here
http://almanac.oremus.org/lectionary/2014.html This will import the details for Advent and the whole of the liturgical year into most calendar programs. It is for the Church of England, but many other churches have similar resources. |

This is an example of the code: Code:
twkSyncStr = "<a target='_blank' href= https://beta.fastmail.fm/calendar/>Calendar</a>" ; $('admin').innerHTML = twkSyncStr + "<b> | </b>" + $('admin').innerHTML ; We'll have to wait and see if it really works. |
