For me, personally, that would be Mulberry. That's pretty much _the_ IMAP client, as it was built from the ground up with IMAP in mind. It has a bit steep learning curve, but once you're past that curve it's smooth sailing.

However, everyone has different needs when it comes to their clients. What do you look for in an IMAP client?

I'm using Opera and I'm pretty happy with that. I use Opera as an RSS reader as well, so I have the same interface for both email and newsfeeds... (and even newsgroups). However, I'm sure that you'll find better IMAP-only clients out there if you're looking for some fancy IMAP features.

I prefer Thunderbird. Even though it is not a full release yet it is very stable and rich with features.

Mulberry gets a lot of praise around here and I know a lot of people that use it and really like it and Mozilla Thunderbird also seems to be quite popular.

Thunderbird gets my vote to, seeing as its a free download wouldn't hurt to give it a go. Of cause the beauty of IMAP is that if you don't like it your not stuck with all your mail downloaded to it!

Maybe a little late but: The Bat! has good IMAP-support. Also, Becky has excellent IMAP-support. However, both aren't freeware.

For me, the best free mail client is Thunderbird. It money isn't an issue, consider using The Bat! or Becky.

I would like to recommend Mozilla, both as a web browser and IMAP client.
