Checking in on Tuffmail.net (no reason to believe there's a problem)
Have a lot of dependence on Tuffmail.net for my email services, and taking caution to evaluate any associated risk. Have emailed them to ask this, but checking here as well:

I bought my first domain in 1998, and have changed email hosts every 6-12 months because of reliability issues. Until I joined tuffmail in 2006. They have NEVER let me down, and I'm still with them.
The only thing is, the cost of space has been evolving (lower prices) since I joined in 2006, and their plans have not followed to accommodate more space for the cost. The IMAP email storage space is therefore nowadays quite expensive compared to others. I'm staying just because of their reliability. I don't want to bother trying another to find out that they're not 100% reliable. I am searching a serious and cost-effective IMAP backup solution though ... But that was not your question. Tuffmail for me = 100% reliability. |

To be fair, there is a world of difference between the price of a portable terabyte USB hard drive and arrays of storage that can handle high IOPS (whether it's NAS, SAN, cluster, etc.)

May be slightly off topic but in my opinion if Tuffmail added option of changing themes including color Themes this would enhance their service.
Please disregard this post. I had overlooked the fact that Tuffmail already has the option of selecting Themes. Sorry about that. Last edited by sheprd : 16 Sep 2011 at 08:31 AM. Reason: correction added |

Some more questions
Hello,
Those of you who are using Tuffmail as an email service: 1. Are you using Sophos in conjuction with the standard AV protection provided by this service? 2. Where is this service located at? Just curious for future reference. Thanks for any information. David |

Have employed Sophos for my Tuffmail account for several years.
Last I knew at least some servers were in Florida (Tampa, maybe?). But this may have changed and/or I'm misremembering. Suggest asking Derek ( support at tuffmail dot net). |

Hello,
What I am interested in knowing is there any foreign transaction fees associated with this service? Is Tuffmail a U.S. based company when dealing with credit card transactions? David |

These fees are around 2-3%. Will this surcharge really make you go elsewhere if you like the service? And, conversely, will you sign up for the second-best service because it's 3% cheaper?

The prices are US funds and there are not any extra fees added on ( ie Credit Card fees ). The price listed on the web site is what came off of my credit card in US funds. |
