free with alias ?

Hello emaildiscussions,

Which email service is free, has the ability to be accessed through IMAP or POP3 and has email aliasses/disposable emails?

net-c blocks POP/IMAP until new mail is read in the webmail client
GMX (and the others from the same company/group) sends advertisements and asks to log in to the webmail every so often to keep the account alive.

There must be others without those limits?

Forgot to mention I'd like to stay away from the big and ugly ones, like gmail, yahoo, zoho, etc.

There is an old thread on the forums which I can't find anymore, perhaps someone can point me to it? It had a link to a page with one big table listing email services, I think they were all free email services.
