In Gmail, can I not to have all messages included in a forward or replied e-mail.

I find it annoying & frustrating having all messages included in a forward or reply e-mail.

I believe that Gmail allows you to edit what is included in any mail you send out; you can delete any quoted text.

On the other hand, the Gmail web client has a threaded mail view which keeps all the mails together when you go to look at them.

Is your concern what is included in what you send, or is it seeing all the messages in a thread when you use webmail?

If it is the second, then using Gmail with the webclient isn't for you. You can still use it with a local mail client, like Thunderbird, of course; there any threading is optional.
