Liz, just to update you.

It's just past midnight here in the Asia Pacific region and Runbox is still down.

Been unable to download using POP3 thru Outlook and webmail access is also not available.
Yes, a user in Singapore told me the same thing, it's KPNQwest's DNS problems, apparently... I recommend this for emergency use: http://www.mail2web.com/cgi-bin/login.asp?lid=0&il=0

Not working from Texas

I'm in the USA. I have had intermittent problems with runbox. I use Opera 5.1. I had problems yesterday around 6 pm CST. Later that evening things were OK. Beginning about 12 CST, I was unable to access runbox directly. However the mail2me site Liz selected did work.

Hmm

ottenm,

Like we have stated in various threads here, it's our ISP which is causing random (?) DNS errors for various users' ISP's since Friday. It has nothing to do with runbox itself. Using a different ISP or the site I suggested previously in this thread ( http://www.mail2web.com/cgi-bin/login.asp?lid=0&il=0 ) will get you access while the problem lasts though...

For most, access is uninterrupted.

Liz, if it's just a case of DNS problems, pop up some instructions somewhere (and provide an IP address URL, of course!) showing people how to edit their hosts file, which will allow them to use Runbox even when DNS isn't resolving. This approach works on Windows 95 and later, Mac OS X, and Linux.

No problems here ...

Strangely, absolutely no problems on my end over the last couple of days. While RMM was a little slow earlier in the week, its been rock solid for the past five days. All domains are OK from here.

Jeremy: We tried that, but seems the affected users can't get to the IP's either, so I guess it isn't directly a DNS problem, but another kind of access issue. It is definitly KPN, though, FWIW. Here they are though, if anyone wants to try:

http://193.71.199.74 - runbox.com
http://193.71.199.139 - runbox.no
193.71.199.39 - pop.runbox.com and smtp.runbox.com

Tomorrow is D-day regarding KPN anyhow, I think... If needed, we will move everything. Chances are fair that they will be taken over though, we are in good company down there...

Liz

It seems users in the US and the Netherlands are primarily hit by this. KPN is of course a Dutch company, but other than that, it makes little sense...!

I live in Dallas, TX and haven't been able to get my email all day! The reason I chose runbox was because this didn't happen...
