Save my mails on my server

Hi,

I am looking for a solution for the e-mail in our company. We had POP3 and would like to change on imap. Everything worked very well and there was no problem. Except for one: It is almost 10 times expensive than POP3 because of the memory cell they need.

Now I thought I could run the accounts on imap and save them on our server.

And here is my Question:

Is it possible to create a folder in Outlook or Entourage (2008) wich is placed on our server and just put my read mails with drag and drop in this folder?
Or: Is it possible to place my inbox on our server and still work with imap?

It should run on PC and Mac and Outlook and Entourage

Thanks a lot for every answer!

If you don't have a 'real' server environment and looking for cheap/free - you could run Mercury/32 from the Pegasus Mail author on any Windows system.

The users can be local, and you can run IMAP from there. You will need to deal with incoming mail/spam and ensure it's not an open relay.
