Great! That replaces LittleMozilla as my new favorite! (I hate the oversize buttons on Modern).

I also love the keyword feature in the bookmarks. I had not noticed this and it will make it easier to give up PowerMarks. Thanks Jeremy for that tip! Jeff |

Hey thanks! Pinball is quite nice. Small graphics and they're functional, too.

For example, if you love Google like everyone should, make the keyword for Google - G. Then after you launch Mozilla, just type a "G" in the address line and press enter - there is our friend Google.com. It is a nice way to get to your favorite sites from the keyboard. There may be more that you can do, but that is what I like about the keywords. Jeff |

Thanks, Jeff. That works great. I'm liking Mozilla more and more.
"f" is now fastmail. Tom |

Make the target of your 'g' shortcut "http://www.google.com/search?q=%s". The '%s' gets substituted with whatever you type after the shortcut. So then type in the location bar 'g fastmail' to search for 'fastmail'. Neat huh?

For ages I've had three set up for Google: gg - search Google normal ggg - search Google groups ggc - lookup the URL in the cache The 'ggc' option is really good because if you get a 404 or server not found error you just need to whack 'ggc' in front of the URL and try again! I recently added: ggt - translate the page (seems to use automatic language detection) You could also add ggs - to restrict the search to a particular site. The actual urls to use (with the %s) are pretty easy to guess, (and I'd list them if I was at home...). Phil. P.S. Who said the command line was dead? :-) |
